Lolita's care
For a long time, activists have been pleading for Lolita's retirement from performing tricks at Miami Seaquarium and relocation to an open sea pen. Fortunately, in 2022 the new owner of Miami Seaquarium pledged to work with a group of Lolita advocates called Friends of Toki and the Lummi tribe who consider her an ancestor, on a plan to eventually transport her to the open water.
